Where to start…so many options. We where recommended the ECU Master Black and after talking with Sam from Mana Performance, purchased their Dash and ECU, everything sounded perfect and seemed so simple.
Why ECU Master Black? – Because for around 2K it looked as if it would give us everything we where looking for – obviously it would run the R1, control our proposed Shift System and give us the amount of data channels we where looking for.
As it turned out, simple it wasn’t…initially daunted by the whole process, endless wires it was a matter of reading the install manual, watching hours of YouTube video and trying to not to be too much of a pain in the ar** to Mana Performance by asking endless questions. After many, many hours of studying diagrams and keeping fingers very firmly crossed the dash finally came to life…amazing… surely getting this thing fired was now going to be easy……..WRONG!
Getting the dash to display the information we wanted was in the end relatively logical, as was getting our logo to display – getting the engine started proved a lot more time consuming and something we ended-up handed over to Greg at Road Race Rally – the main importers of the ECU Master Products.
